Hohenfels, Germany Concert

3,Beautiful landscape in Hohenfels.JPG (115050 bytes)Well, my two week mark for being gone from home had come and gone, and I was feeling a tad bit homesick.  So the timing for the concert at the US Military base in Hohenfels, Germany couldn't have come at a better time.

At this concert, I was able to speak freely without a translator since 1,Tammy excited to be in Hohenfels.JPG (64191 bytes)everyone spoke English - Yippeeee!  They were all US Military folk.  And what a warm group of people they were.  I think I may have received the greater blessing from them than I gave... they really made me feel like I was home (or at least near home).

It was truly a blessed time as I shared my testimony and exhorted all the believers to be "EXCITED" to share Jesus with others!  Of course, we should not be ashamed... but if we really think about it, we need to be joyful when sharing this great news, or when inviting someone to church.  How attracted will someone be to what we have if we are being hum-drum about the freedom we have in Jesus??

12,Rodriguez's looking at pix of my nephew David.JPG (81123 bytes)I also had the joy of fellowshipping after the concert with a number of wonderful and loving people.  Since my brother had lived in Germany several years ago, some of the worshippers knew him... so I was showing them the newest addition to the family, a picture of David James!  It was quite comical hearing the exuberant responses when they laid eyes on this precious little boy's charming smile captured so well in his photo.

I received a lot of wonderful feedback from the congregation, which is something I have had to do without due to language barriers.  It was so encouraging to know that what God laid on my heart to share this night impacted certain people specific to their current situation in life.  I wish I was able to keep in contact with everyone to whom I spoke, just to see how God works out their plans, but it would be impossible.

Another really cool thing was the connections I made at this concert for some possible future concerts in America.  Many of the people have a church stateside that they are plugged into, and some were interested in inviting me there as well.  I thought it was kind of ironic that I would make contacts for USA churches over here in Europe.  But God loves to network His people.

13,Doing the American thing after the concert.JPG (53081 bytes)And to top off the evening, Steffi and I did the all-American thing and stopped at McDonald's after the concert for some french fries, a coke (with 3 ice cubes, which was a real treat), and a McFlurry!

It was a treat indeed to meet the wonderful people serving at Hohenfels All Nations Church.  Thanks to all of you, and I hope to meet you again sometime soon.  Lord bless and keep you.

Not Ashamed -
